Obituary for Gail Favors Melton-Singleton

Gail Favors Melton-Singleton, 64 of Stuart, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Martin Memorial Health Systems-North in Stuart, FL. She was born in Stuart, FL to the parents of the late Jimmy Lee Smith and the late Ada Mae Duncan and later adopted by Mary and Freddie B. Favors of Indiantown, FL. Gail was educated in the public schools of Martin County, Florida. She graduated from Martin County High School and Indian River Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree in Childhood Education. She was later certified in early childhood education. She was gainfully employed as a child care development coordinator/ director and was a member of the House of God in Indiantown, FL were she served as a Deaconess. Gail was truly loved by everyone who knew her and it was always a joy to be in her presence. Even at times when she didn't feel well, she never complained. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Mary and Freddie Favors; and a sister, Anne Walker. Gail will lovingly be missed by: her husband, Arthur Singleton of Stuart, FL; 2 sons, Freddie (Tammy) Favors of Hobe Sound, FL and John Fernando Melton; 2 grandchildren, Suriah and Ciarra Favors; step-grandchildren, Anthony and Leslie Stevens, Arthur James Southward, Michael Paul Mayes, Charlotte and Carlos Sanchez; 4 brothers, Mack, Hilton, Leon and Perry Smith, 4 sisters, Lois Paige of Jacksonville, FL, Mattie Willis, Jeanette Williams and Evelyn Smith, all of Indiantown, FL; 3 aunts, Vera Howard, Edith Bell of Indiantown, and Annie Mae Duncan of Fort Pierce, FL; 2 uncles, Johnson and June Duncan of Indiantown, FL; 2 sisters-in-law, Nina Singleton and Lugena Singleton both of Indiantown, FL; SERVICES: Have been changed to a Graveside Service at Port Mayaca Cemetery in Canal Point, FL; to be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 1:00pm. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart.
