Obituary for Evergreen Jefferson Mother

Mother Evergreen Jefferson, 92 of Wabasso, FL went home to be with the Lord at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL. She was born in St. Paul, MN to the parents of the late Russell and Eleanor Paul. Mother Jefferson attended the public schools of Ramsey County, MN. She moved to Florida from Minnesota. She was employed by Langbehn Bakery in Vero Beach, FL for 36 years. Mother Evergreen was a faithful member of the Wabasso Church of God and served in Women's Ministries, Mission and Sunday School. She transitioned from earth to glory while surrounded by the love of her youngest child, Reverend Andrew Jefferson and grandson, Tyshawn. She is now resting from her labor in the presence of the Lord. She was preceded in death by: her parents Russell and Eleanor Paul; her loving husband of 57 years, Wallace Jefferson, Sr.; her sons, Bishop Wallace Jefferson, Jr. and Nathaniel Jefferson, Sr.; a daughter, Verdell Dawkins. Loved ones left behind to celebrate her precious memories and celebrate her homegoing are: 2 loving daughters, Dr. Virginia Jackson of Vero Beach, FL and Vivian Coney (Edward) of Wabasso, FL; 3 caring sons, Odell Jefferson (Rose)and Reverend Andrew Jefferson (Ruth)both of Vero Beach, FL and Walter Jefferson, Jr. (friend, Olivia) of Miami, FL; a loving son-in-law, Henry Dawkins, Sr. of Wabasso, FL; a beautiful daughter-in-law, Mary Jefferson also of Wabasso, FL; 32 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 56 great-great-grandchildren; her "Big Girl", Frances Snyder; and a host of cousins, church family and many friends who dearly loved her. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 from 4pm-7pm at the Wabasso Church of God. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church with her pastor, Bishop John A. Thorne, officiating and her son, Reverend Andrew Jefferson is pastor. Burial will follow at West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest registry.
