Obituary for Essie Mae Robinson Overtree-Barnett

Essie Mae Robinson Overtree-Barnett, 58, of Vero Beach, FL passed away peacefully at her residence. She was born in Vero Beach to the parents of the late, Lee Arthur Robinson, Sr. and the late Bessie Morgan Robinson-Overtree. She attended the public schools of Indian River County including Gifford High School. Essie retired from Leroy Smith & Sons Packing House after over 20 years of employment, and has also been employed as a cook for Dodgertown County Club and Indian River County School Board. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Robinson. Surviving to cherish her sweet memories are: 3 loving and devoted daughters, Tonya Robinson McDonald (Robert) of Vero Beach, FL, Sonya Davis Ingram (Yan) of Orlando, FL and Yvette Hanson Gadson (Trenton) of Charlotte, NC; 3 brothers, Tommy Overtree of Valdosta, GA, Lee Arthur Robinson, Jr., (Betty) of Vero Beach, FL and Dale Robinson, Sr. (Terri) of West Palm Beach, FL; 4 sisters, Barbara Perkins, Carolyn Robinson Mclendon, Arnetha Robinson Myles (Leroy) and Kathy Robinson, all of Vero Beach, FL; 5 beautiful grandchildren; and a host of other relatives including, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010, from 4pm-7pm at St. Elizabeth Church of Deliverance in Gifford, FL. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 3:00pm at New Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Chuch in Gifford with Pastor Demetrius Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Gifford Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart. Please sign the guest book.
