Obituary for Erron Alan Pipkin

Erron Alan Pipkin suddenly departed this life on Thursday, May 13. He was born on January 21, 1974, at General Hospital in Los Angeles, California to the late Richard Alton Pipkin and the late Eleanor Powell Pipkin.

Erron attended the 32nd Street Magnet School and graduated from Alexander Hamilton Senior High School. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills and a Masters and PhD in Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP)/Alliant International University. He also did graduate study at Indiana University.

Erron had an adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit, and started up a couple of small businesses. However, he spent most of his adult working life working in various Human Resources positions with Farmer’s Insurance and their parent company Zürich North America.

A true basketball fan, Erron enjoyed playing in fantasy basketball leagues, was a loyal fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and enjoyed attending basketball games whenever he got the chance. He also loved a good game night. He would rarely turn down a Poker, Bid Whist, Gin or Spades game. He would probably beat you at Dominoes and good luck winning a game of Monopoly against him. Erron also enjoyed learning about all things related to the financial sector and investing in the stock market.

Most importantly Erron loved his family and friends who were one and the same to him. Those who are heartbroken and left to mourn his passing include his spouse of nearly 19 years, Janelle, their daughter Jaya; his sister Robin Pipkin, his brother Eric Pipkin; great aunts Rowena Hunter and Edith Philips; aunts Regina Smith, Larraine Darrington, and Mary Mathis; uncles Reginald Pipkin and Randall Pipkin; cousins Tyesha Turner, Michael Pipkin, Roscoe Pipkin, Reggie Pipkin, Amber Pipkin, Rashad Pipkin, Wayne Darrington and Chris Darrington; his friends who were like brothers Sean Allen (Lori) and John Towns, a friend who was like a sister Nyamavu Hill, Andrea "Andy" Rax and Chirron Rax; friends who were like mothers Judy Allen and Patricia (Will) Wright and many other deeply saddened relatives and friends. His dog Beau misses him too.

A celebration of Erron’s life will be held in Los Angeles, California in July.
