Ms. Ella Ree James, 88 of Stuart, FL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Martin Nursing & Restorative Care Center in Stuart. She was born to the parents of the late Barry and Mary Lee (Turner) Hamilton in Bronwood, GA. She began her elementary education in Georgia and upon moving to Florida with her family at an early age (78 yrs. ago), she also attended Stuart Training School. She was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart. Before retirement she was a cook at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, now Martin Memorial Medical Center-North. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her nine siblings; her children, Robert Lee Oden, Clyde Oden and David Oden. Survivors include: 2 sons, Walter E. Oden (Edith)of Miami, FL and Johnny Oden (Patricia) of Philadelphia, PA; 3 daughters, Mary L. Kee of Stuart, FL, Shirley Hurst (M.L.) of Hobe Sound, FL and Faye James of Stuart, FL; 13 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins from Stuart and Tangerine, Florida, friends and Staff of martin Nursing & Restorative Care. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 5pm-8pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel. "A Homegoing Celebration" will be observed on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 2:00pm at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart. Entombment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum in Stuart. Thorne's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
