Obituary for Elizabeth E. Chapman

Mrs. Elizabeth Chapman, a 75 year old resident of Port Saint Lucie, died in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her caring family. She was born to the parents of the late Benjamin Randolph and Janie Jones Everett in Charleston, SC. She moved to Philadelphia, PA (at the age of 3) and was educated in the public schools of Montgomery County. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at Gospel Temple Baptist Church in Philadelphia under the pastorate of Reverend William Womack. In 1977 she moved to Florida. Mrs. Chapman was employed as a bus driver for the Martin County School District for 13 years and was a member of Bread of Heaven Ministries in Stuart, FL under the pastorate of Reverend Paul A. Roberts. She loved reading and sharing the Word of God with others. Along with her parents, Mrs. Chapman was also preceded in death by her sons, Roderick and Anthony Chapman; a daughter, Marsha Chapman; and a brother, John Everett. Survivors include: her husband, William Chapman of Port Saint Lucie; 3 sons, Frederick Chapman of Fountain Inn, SC, Harry Yancey, Jr. (Nettie) of Rowand Heights, CA and Barry Chapman (Stacey) of Philadelphia, PA; 7 daughters, Marceline Smith of Philadelphia, PA, Paulette Rose of Simpsonville, SC, Janice Chapman of Philadelphia, PA, Jacqueline Keitt (James) of Killeen, TX, Shirelle Chapman of Jupiter, FL, Dorothy Scott (Ralph)of Palm Springs, FL and Jenene D. McFadden (Levern) of Port Saint Lucie, FL; a brother, Lawrence Everett (Helen)of Pomona, CA; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009 from 4pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00am, Saint Paul A.M.E. Church in Stuart, with Reverend Paul Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart. Thorne's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
