Obituary for Edith Leola Duhart

Edith Leola Duhart, 66 of Stuart, FL passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007 at Martin Memorial Medical Center North in Stuart. She was born to George and Rosa Lee (White) Mays in Hobe Sound, FL. Edith completed her basic education in the public schools of Martin County, graduating from Stuart Training School in the Class of 1959. She was a graduate of FAMU and was an educator for the Martin County School District. Ms. Duhart was a member of Peaceful Valley C.M.E. Church in Hobe Sound and served there as: President of the Stewardess Board, President of The Missionary Society, a Member of the Trustee Board, Choir Member, Fellowship Director, Church Clerk and Permanent Delegate for the Miami/Tampa District for the Florida Region of the 5th Episcopal District of C.M.E. Churches. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rosa Lee (White) Mays. Survivors include: an only son, Michael J. Duhart and his wife, Sabre (Leonard) of Port St. Lucie FL; a granddaughter, Shardae' Duhart of Port St. Lucie, (attending the University of South Florida in Tampa); a grandson, Michael Ivan Duhart of Port St. Lucie; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 5pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel and on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at New Allen A.M.E. Temple in Hobe Sound from 9:00am-11:00am. "A Homegoing Celebration" will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 11:00am, at the Church with Reverend James Allen, Officiating (Pastor of Peaceful Valley). Burial will follow in Hobe Sound Cemetery.
