Obituary for Dr. Barbara Gilbert Anderson

"Maranatha" Dr. Barbara Gilbert Anderson, 73, a prominent resident and educator of Martin County, Florida went home to be with the Lord at Martin Memorial Health Systems-North in Stuart, FL.

She was born in Stuart, FL to the parents of the late Otis Gilbert, Sr. and the late Mary Clark-Gilbert. Dr. Anderson was employed as Executive Director of Instruction for the Martin County School Board before retirement.

Along with her parents, Dr. Barbara Gilbert Anderson was also preceded in death by: a sister, Velma Brock; brothers, Otis Gilbert, Jr., and Tommy Lee Gilbert; father and mother-in-law, Bishop Jesse H. Anderson and Mother Alberta Porter-Anderson; sisters-in-law, Nora Bell Anderson-McGahee (Timothy, Sr.), Marie A. Kendell (Robert Sr.) and James Anderson (Kay, of Hallandale, FL).

Remaining behind to mourn her victorius passing, as well as celebrate her triumphant homegoing are: her forever love and husband, Dr. David L. Anderson of Palm City, FL; 3 devoted sons, David L. Anderson, II (Gilda) of Tamarac, FL, Jon David Anderson (Kendra) of Miramar, FL and Kristopher Lee Anderson (Kelly) of Orlando, FL; 6 adorable and precious grandchildren, Tyler, Christa and Nia Anderson of Tamarac, FL, Jon David, II and Kayden Anderson of Miramar, FL and Kinley Anderson of Orlando, FL; 3 caring brothers, Foston Gilbert (Littie) of Stuart, FL, Allen Gilbert (Trudy) of Port Salerno, FL and Stanley Gilbert (Debbie) of West Palm Beach, FL; a loving sister, Ann Sutton of West Palm Beach, FL (Alphonso); brothers-in-law, Jesse H. Anderson, Jr. (Effie Diane) and Charles L. Anderson, Reverend Xenobia) both of Port Salerno, FL; sisters-in-law, Daisy A. Anderson (Vernon deceased), Agnes A. Duncombe of Port Salerno, FL (James, deceased), Margaret A. Patton of Port Salerno, FL (Reverend Emerson), Ruth A. Stubbs of Port Salerno (John), Joann A. Blount and Anthony "Tony" Anderson (Delphina)of Port Salerno, FL; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, church family, colleagues and former students who will certainly miss her humble,quiet, peaceful, positive, peace keeping personality, topped with a smile that could lighten up your darkest day.

Homegoing Celebration - Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00am. Christ Fellowship, 10205 Southwest Pratt Whitney Rd. - Stuart, FL 34997. Dr. Barbara Gilbert Anderson will await the resurrection at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of her family, Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
