Obituary for D'Mira Ethelyn-Rose Haston

After many years of trying to birth a girl, after 3 boys, Miriam C. and Alvin J. Haston, conceived a beautiful and brilliant daughter, D’Mira Ethelyn-Rose Haston. Her genesis began Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at Martin Memorial North, in Stuart, Florida.

From her conception, D’Mira radiated a unique presence and personality, and became a deeply beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and trusted friend. In her early years, she matriculated through her scholastic journey at Gertrude Walden Daycare Center and J. D. Parker Elementary School. After her family relocated to Port St. Lucie, her 3rd Grade year, she continued at St. Lucie West K-8 School. D’Mira loved school, immensely, had a lifelong aspiration of being a Cardiothoracic M. D. (Heart Doctor), and was committed to educational excellence. She successfully navigated through High School at Treasure Coast High School. She was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and a Senior Airman in JR. ROTC. Though she would never physically walk across the graduation stage, she earned her High School diploma, with honors, Class of 2023.

D’Mira was an active member of Faith Temple Church Of God, Inc., Indiantown, Florida, under the Pastoral leadership of her late Grandfather, Bishop Daniel T. Weaver, Sr. There, she participated in the Youth Ministry and the Liturgical Dance Ministry. In the final season of her life, she was under the spiritual covering of her first cousin, Bishop Ricardo D. Weaver, Sr., of City Church, Stuart, Florida.

As the only daughter in her immediate family, she embraced and relished in her distinctive advantage amongst her 4 brothers. D’Mira and her brothers share an unbreakable bond; as their parents intentionally taught, and prioritized, family over everything. This value, earmarked D’Mira, as a compassionate caregiver, natural nurturer, and motherly-like companion in their household. Amongst her friends, who became extended family, she would be known as a confidant and cherished sister.

On Tuesday night, April 11, 2023, just before midnight, after a brief but intense, cancer journey, she was promoted to Heaven. D’Mira’s quality of life far outweighed the quantity of her life. At age 18, her reach and light, impacted countless individuals, and her character and essence, experienced by those she came in contact with, was an eternal blessing.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Bishop Daniel T. Weaver, Sr., and Odell Clemons. Left to cherish her memory forever and celebrate her life, are her parents, Miriam C. and Deacon Alvin J. Haston; her grandparents, Ms. Rosa Mae Wilder, Mother Ethel Mae Weaver, and Ms. Eunice Mae Haston (honorary grandmother); her brothers, Javin J. Haston (Jordin), Devin J. Haston, Tevin J.
