Obituary for DeWayne Bernard Mitchell III

Dewayne Mitchell, III died on Sunday morning, August 05, 2007 at Martin Memorial Hospital South in Stuart, FL. He was born February 27, 1991 in Stuart to DeWayne B. Mitchell, Sr. and Carolyn Kitchen Mitchell. He was 16 year old a tenth grader who was very excited about attending Martin County High School in the fall. "He was a popular teenager who dreamed of one day becoming a professional football player." DeWayne was a member of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hobe Sound, FL. He was employed at McDonald's in Port Salerno, FL and was a resident of Hobe Sound, FL. He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandfather, Rozelle Mitchell, Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Arthalia Sanders and maternal grandfather, Reverend Arthur Lee Kitchen. Survivors include: his parents, DeWayne B. Mitchell, Sr. and Carolyn Kitchen Mitchell of Hobe Sound, FL; two brothers, DeWayne B. Mitchell, II and James Dixon of Hobe Sound, FL; three sisters, Precious Maxwell of Stuart, FL, Lashanta Mitchell and Bianca Rich of Hobe Sound, FL; paternal grandmother, Mary H. Dockins of Memphis TN; maternal grandfather, James Fletcher of Ft. Myers, FL; and maternal grandmother, Rebecca Kitchen of Hobe Sound, FL; a host of other relatives including, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 4pm-6pm at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on S.E. Pettway Street. A Wake Service will be held from 6pm-7pm. A Celebration of DeWayne's Life will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11:00 am at New Allen A.M.E. Church in Hobe Sound. Burial will follow in Hobe Sound Cemetery.
