Obituary for David Lee Riggins

David Lee Collier, was born March 5, 1976 in Vero Beach, Florida to the parents of Willie Harry Collier Sr. (who preceded him in death) and Ernestine Northern.  At the early age of 4, he became the son of the late Mr. Johnnie and the late Mother Bertha Riggins through adoption.  As a youngster, he confessed Christ and became an active member of Northside Church of God, Gifford, Florida. He was educated in the public schools of Indian River County namely Dodger Town Elementary and later he attended Vero Beach High School. David loved football, boxing and playing poker but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family. David was known as the "Potato Man" for his love of cooking. Family and friends will always remember David for the comedian that he was, a loving father, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle. Along with his biological father, and adoptive parents, David Lee Riggins was also preceded in death by his grandparents Hector Riggins (Mary), Baxley, GA and Tom Collier (Maybell), SC;  a brother, Charles J. Riggins; and a brother-in-Law, Bishop Percival Wallace. David Lee leaves to cherish his precious memories: two children, David La'Dale Riggins and Davy'ahonna Janell-Syn'Cier Riggins; five sisters, Arlene Riggins Simmons of Rockledge, Florida, Barbara E. Wallace of Ocala Florida, Carol L. Collier, Cheryl Smith (Elton) and Shameika Northern. three brothers, Charlie Riggins (proceeded in Desmond Collier, Jerome Northern, Willie Harry Collier Jr.; nieces, Alaina Riggins of Tampa, Florida, Arvedra Dawkins of Rockledge, Florida, Jaquada Luther (Alex), Keyonie Davis, Natasia Drummond, Prayerlacinda Cohill (Adrian) of Wildwood, Florida, Shamelda Simmons of Cocoa, Florida, Tietonne McKenzie, Yolanda Collier,; nephews,   Bryant Wallace, of Wildwood, Florida, Charles Riggins Jr. (Belaan), of Tampa, FL; Christopher Simmons of Rockledge, Florida, Harold McKenzie, Javaine Mathews, Johnathen Presley, Johnathon Davis, Percival Wallace (Ashley) of Wildwood, FL; Traymonte Snipes;  Services:  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018, 10am at Gifford Northside Agape' Ministries and burial will follow at Gifford Cemetery in Gifford, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
