Obituary for David Mitchell Dawkins

Mr. David Mitchell Dawkins, 57 of Wabasso, FL went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at VNA Hospic in Vero Beach, FL. He was born on November 2, 1961, in Vero Beach to the parents of the late Deacon Henry George Dawkins, Sr. and the late Sister Verdell Jefferson Dawkins. David was educated in the public schools of Indian River County and graduated from Vero Beach High School in the Class of 1979. He was endowed with a multiplicity of talents including, being an accomplished tailor, singer, choir director, and an electrifying performer. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wallace Jefferson, Sr. and Mother Evergreen Jefferson; his paternal grandparents, W. G. Dawkins and Gertha King-Dawkins; and a godfather Bishop David Eldell (Cora) of Alabama He leaves behind to cherish precious memories, and to celebrate his homegoing: a dear daughter, Arvedra Dawkins and granddaughter, Chyanah Parks, both of Rockledge, FL; devoted godmother, Louise Williams (Thomas)3 devoted sisters, Diane Johnson (Roy) of Sebastian, FL, Kimberly Dawkins of Palm Bay, FL and Tracy Culmer (Daniel) of Eleuthra, Bahamas; 4 devoted brothers, Henry Dawkins, Jr. (Barbara) of Sebastian, FL, Terry Dawkins (Cietrus) of Wabasso, FL, Demetirus Dawkins (Brittany) and Dale Dawkins (Lori) of Vero Beach, FL; a loving godson, TaQuan McDew of Wabasso,FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will dearly miss him. Services:  Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019, from 5pm-7pm at the Wabasso Church of God, 8710 64th Avenue in Wabasso.  A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 11:00 am at St. Peter's Missionary Baptist Church 28th Avenue in Gifford, FL. He will await the resurrection at West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the professional care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
