Obituary for Cleophus Garrett

Cleophus Garrett, 82, of Stuart, FL passed away at Martin Memorial Health System North in Stuart on December 8, 2015. He was born in Taladega, AL to the parents of the late John Shelley Garrett and the late Mary Roszell Ball on June 06, 1933. Cleophus was educated in the public schools of Taladega and moved to Martin County 50 years ago. Before retirement, he was employed as a laborer in the construction industry. He was a member of Love Temple Church of God by Faith in Stuart, FL. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by, an adopted son, Richard Smith and an adopted daughter, Mary Alice Thompson; two brothers, Zack Franklin Garrett and Elbert Garrett and one sister, Gloria Tolbert. Left behind to cherish his precious memories are: companion, Rena Mae Smith of Stuart, FL; adopted daughters, Robbie Turner (John) of Stuart, Jerry Elizbeth and Jolene Mitchell; two brothers, Sollie Garrett, and Joe Smiley Garrett; and one sister, Mary Joe Wilson, all of Alpine, AL; a host of grands and great-grands, nieces,nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. Services: Visitation will beheld an hour before service time, from 10am-11am on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Love Temple Church of God by Faith in Stuart. A celebration of life will begin at 11am at the church. Burial will follow at New Monrovia Cemetery in Port Salerno, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary.
