Ms. Charlotte Broomfield, 56 a former resident of Hobe Sound, FL and a resident of Orlando, FL passed away peacefully on September 10, 2017 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital in Winter Park, FL She was born to the parents of the late, Elmira Broomfield Jones and Fred Cooksey in Stuart, FL. Charlotte was educated in the public schools of Martin County and attended Martin County High School. Before becoming disabled she lived in Fort Pierce, FL and in 2006 she relocated to Orlando, FL. Charlotte was employed as an evaporator operator for Ocean Spray. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, FL under the leadership of Dr. Lamar Hill. Her family will remember her fondly as a quiet individual who loved her family and worked very hard to keep them all together. Her children and grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Elmira Broomfield Jones and stepfather, Willie Jones; maternal grandparents, John and Mable Rucker; a sister, Andrea Broomfield, a nephew, Jeremy Lamont Harris, several aunts and uncles. Charlotte is loving survived by: 2 daughters, Charlene L. Caines and Ebony F. Currie, both of Orlando, FL; 6 grandchildren, Tyrell, Travelle, Camarion, Camani, Vontavious and Von'Tavia, all of Orlando, FL; siblings, Chauncey Broomfield of Hobe Sound, FL, Henry Broomfield (Pamela) of Jacksonville, FL, Tracy Broomfield of Hobe Sound, FL, Connie Broomfield-Fraizer (Joel) of Madison, FL, Minnie Scott (Wesley) of Orlando, FL and Barbara Broomfield of Madison, FL; and other relatives including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, a host of cousins and friends who will dearly miss her. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at New Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Hobe Sound, FL at 1:00pm with Bishop Aston Miller Officiating and Bishop Benny Jones presiding. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Cemetery in Hobe Sound, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
