Charles Edward Pettway, 58 of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away quietly at Tradition Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was born on September 4, 1959 in Stuart, FL to he parents of the late, Deacon Robert and Mother Ruth Pettway. At an early age he joined New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hobe Sound, FL. He loved attending church where always sat in the deacon's corner with his father. Charles loved to praise the Lord with a holy dance. His smile was infectious and could light up your darkest day. Charles has resided in Jensen Beach, FL after the death of his mother and them relocated to the Delancy Home in Port St. Lucie, FL. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a brother, Robert Pettway of West Palm Beach, FL, a host of cousins and many other relatives friends including a special family friend, Eutis Delancy. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 8224 SE Pettway Street, Hobe Sound, FL, from 10am-11am with the pastor Reverend David George officiating. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Cemetery in Hobe Sound. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
