Ms. Carrie M. West, 94 of Port Salerno, FL went home to be with the Lord at Salerno Bay Manor Nursing Home on June 1, 2016. She was born in Union Springs, AL to the parents of the late Anderson and Carrie Maddox. Ms. West has been a resident of Port Salerno for 50 years and was a member of the Port Salerno Church of Christ. Before retirement she was gainfully employed as a housekeeper for private homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Preston West; brothers, Love "Buddy" Maddox, Jimmy Maddox, "Bruh" Maddox, Robert Maddox and sister, Annie Mae Maddox. Her survivors are: a son, Arthur West (Lynette) of Port Salerno, FL; a daughter, Willie Mae West of Port St. Lucie, FL; and a sister, Rosena Gilbert of Stuart, FL (Port Salerno). Services: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, 10:00am at the Port Salerno Church of Christ, 5421 Geraldine Street, Stuart, FL 34997. Burial will follow at New Monrovia Cemetery on Cove Rd. in Port Salerno, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary.
