Carol McFadden, Sr., 83 of Hobe Sound, FL affectionately known as "Daddy Slack", passed away at Treasure Coast Hospice-Hay Madeira House in Stuart, FL. He was born in Clarendon, SC to the parents of the late Eugene McFadden and the late Carrie Nergo. He's been a resident of Hobe Sound for 53 years and was employed in landscaping. Carol was a member of New Allen Temple in Hobe Sound. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by: daughters, Carrie Lee McFadden and Martha McFadden; a son, Ronnie McFadden; a brother, Cleo McFadden and a sister, Dorothy Wheeler. Survivors include: his wife, Ruby McFadden of Hobe Sound, FL; a son, John Carol McFadden of Stuart, FL; daughters, Patricia Ann McFadden, Rebecca McFadden and Carolyn Thomas (Ronald) of Hobe Sound, FL; a brother, Joe Nell McFadden (Florence) of South Carolina; 15 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren; his canine companion, Jasmine and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Services: Visitation will held on Friday, August 8, 2014 form 5pm-7pm at New Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Hobe Sound. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014, 1pm - at New Allen Temple AME Church in Hobe Sound. Burial will follow at Banner Lake Cemetery in Hobe Sound, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary.
