Obituary for Bishop Daniel Thomas Weaver, Sr.

Bishop Daniel Thomas Weaver, Sr.

Early Thursday morning on October 28, 2021, at 12:46 am, our Heavenly Father in his omniscience, and sovereignty, chose to release Bishop Daniel Thomas Weaver, Sr. from his earthly labor and quietly escorted him into the peaceful presence of the Lord. God's angels were assigned to the residence of his son Myron N. Weaver, to gently usher Bishop Weaver to a place of peace, joy, happiness and rest.

Daniel was born in Baxley, GA to the late Sarah Cummings Bing Weaver and Jim Weaver on May 02, 1940. He was educated in the public schools of Appling County, GA.

After relocating to Florida in 1956, Daniel was employed for Spicey Landscaping, Hobe Sound Clubhouse of Jupiter Island, and Jenkins Landscaping until he retired from the labor force in 2005.

In 1963 under the leadership of Bishop James Campbell, Daniel accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and served as a deacon at Gomez Church of God. He later became an ordained minister under the direction and leadership of Bishop Campbell, Bishop Archie, and Bishop Lee. Daniel was sent to Indiantown Florida in 1970 to fulfill the role of pastor at Third Street Church of God. In 1984 because of his willingness to follow God’s directions without question, Daniel became the Lead Pastor and Overseer of Faith Temple Church of God, Inc. He also served as a part of the administrative team for United Fellowship of Independent Churches Inc. (UFICI). Bishop Daniel T. Weaver remained at Faith Temple Church of God, Inc even as his health began to fail because he knew that the works he had done would speak for him and that God’s grace is sufficient.

Daniel has gone through many different health issues in his lifetime, but as the Scripture says, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." Psalms 34:19

In 1958, he married the love of his life, Mother Ethel M. Weaver and to this union they raised and reared 22 children by strictly adhering to Proverbs 22:6.

Bishop Daniel Thomas Weaver Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Sarah Cummings Bing Weaver and Jim Weaver; 5 siblings, Mary Harris, Evangelist Mildred Monroe, Thelma Kitchen, Nathaniel Frazier, and Cleo Albertha Blanks; 2 daughters, Doris E.
