Obituary for Betty Louise Hamilton Mother

Mother Betty Louise Hamilton, a 76 year old resident of Stuart, FL died at Martin Memorial Hospital-North in Stuart. She was born in West Palm Beach, FL to the parents of the late Lonnie White and the late Lucille Jerkins. She attended the public schools of Martin County, graduating from Stuart Training School in the Class of 1951. Mother Hamilton was employed with the Martin County School District and was a church mother and Sunday school teacher at Love Temple Church of God by Faith in Stuart. During her school days at Stuart Training School, she will fondly be remembered as a savvy fashion designer who modeled her original designs. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, BJ Hamilton; two brothers, Ezekiel and John S. Jerkins and two sisters, Rosetta Dean and Jannie Mae White. Survivors include: a son, Eric Leon Hamilton; four daughters, Sharon, Carol, and Velda Hamilton and Keely Hamilton-Byrd (Bobby), all of Stuart, FL; a brother, David Jerkins (Viola) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her church family at Love Temple Church of God by Faith. Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 11:00am until noon. A home going celebration will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart. Thorne's Mortuary is in charge.
