Obituary for Bernice Ross

Bernice Ross, 68, of West Palm Beach, Florida died Friday at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, in Fort Pierce, Florida. She was a former resident of Martin and Saint Lucie Counties, residing in Stuart and Fort Pierce, Florida. She was born September 28, 1938 in Boston, Georgia. Ms. Ross became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart, Florida under the leadership of the late Reverend Henry Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Emanuel and Elizabeth (Hill) Rogers; five brothers, Willie Rogers, Otis Rogers, McKinney Rogers, Emanuel Rogers, Jr. and Jimmie Rogers; four sisters, Elsie Little, Viella Williams, Doretha Crane and Robertha Rogers. Survivors include: a daughter, Melissa Minty (Bruce) of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Christine Rogers of Rochester, NY and Nealie Bell Williams (James) of Stuart, FL; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007 from 5pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. in Stuart, Florida. A funeral service will be held on Saturday 11am at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel, with the Reverend John A. Thorne, Officiating. Burial will follow in Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart.
