Obituary for Aretha Eldell Brock Mother

All of heaven rejoiced as Mother Aretha Eldell Brock, 71, of Wabasso, FL made her triumphant transition from earth to glory, on April 15, 2011 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL. She was born to the parents of the late Julius and the late Cecilia Paulk Eldell in Douglas, GA. Mother Brock was educated in the public schools of Coffee County, GA and Indian River County, Florida. At the age of 10 she moved to Indian River County, Florida with her family. She was a member of the Wabasso Church of God and served faithfully as a member of Women's Discipleship, Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, Bible Study Class, a member of the Mother's Board, former tap drum beater and formerly orchestrated culinary activities. Before retirement, she was employed as a cook for the Indian River County Head Start Program. Mother Brock will forever be remember as one who "mothered" any and every body. She shared with the community whatever God had blessed her with, and expected nothing in return. She was a real "giver" in every sense of the word. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by 18 siblings and a year ago the passing of her beloved husband, Deacon Eddie D. Brock. Surviving to mourn her passing and celebrate her homegoing are: 3 loving daughters, Cheryl Williams (Michael) of Sebastian, FL, Veronica Smith (Larry) of Lauderhill, FL and Sylvia Jean Brock of Wabasso, FL; a brother, Bishop David R. Eldell (Cora) of Mobile, AL; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a niece, Mother Mary Jefferson of Wabasso, FL; in-laws, John Brock (Eula Mae) of Newburgh, NY, Ervin Bryd (Laura) of Palm Bay, FL and Bishop Charles Black of Wabasso, FL; and a host of other relatives including, godchildren, neighbors, church family and friends who will miss her dearly. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 - 4pm-7pm at the Wabasso Church of God in Wabasso, FL. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11am at the church, with her pastor Bishop John A. Thorne, officiating Burial will follow at the West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest book.
