Obituary for Alice Marie Chambers

Alice Chambers, 59, a resident of Indiantown, FL, went home to be with the Lord at Martin Memorial Hospital-South in Stuart, FL. She was born in Stuart, FL to the late Robert Mike, Sr. and the late Bertha Mae White. Alice was educated in the public schools of Martin County, attending Booker Park Elementary School in Indiantown, FL and Stuart Training School. Alice was a member of the Family Worship Center in Indiantown. Before becoming disabled, Alice was gainfully employed in the agriculture industry. Having no children of her own, she happily assisted in the rearing of her nieces and nephews, while also enjoying gardening, fishing and shopping. She will forever be remembered as a very pleasant individual, always willing to lend a helping hand. She gave out of the abundance of her heart with joy, and she always had an encouraging word for you, despite how she was feeling herself. On June 8, 2012 at 6:47 pm, she peacefully departed this life at Martin Memorial Hospital-South in Stuart. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and a niece, Tawana Letina Ivory. Survivors include: a loving and devoted husband, Bobby Chambers of Indiantown, FL; 2 sisters, Bertha Aiken and Henrietta Mike of Stuart, FL; 2 brothers, Robert (Emma) Mike, and Marvin (Tawanda) Mike of Indiantown, FL; sister-in-law, Will Mike of Indiantown, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends, including a a very special niece, Nikita Martin of Stuart, FL, special cousins, Vera Wilson of Port St. Lucie, FL and Ida Mae Willis of Indiantown, FL; and godmother, Vera Duncan Howard of Indiantown, FL. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, from 10am-11am at Evergreen First Missionary Baptist Church in Indiantown, FL. A homegoing celebration will begin 11am at the church with the pastor, Minister Jack Wilson, officiating. Burial will follow at Port Mayaca Cemetery - Port Mayaca, FL.
