Obituary for Albert Slaughter Mr.

Mr. Albert Slaughter, 75, of Vero Beach, FL passed away at the Department of Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL. He was born to the parentage of the late Reverend David Slaughter, Sr. and Mrs. Roberta Davis-Slaughter in Sebastian, FL. Albert graduated from the following institutions of education: Douglas Elementary School in Wabasso, FL, Gifford High School in Gifford, FL, and FAMU with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1959. He was honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces, receiving the rank of Major, after having served his country for 20 years. After his discharge, Major Slaughter was employed with Safeway Foods and was also a self-employed tax preparer. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by: 3 brothers and 2 sisters namely; Bishop Alphonso Slaughter, Timothy Franklin Slaughter, David Slaughter, Jr., Lollie Mae Cummings and Juanita Council. Surviving to mourn his passing, as well as celebrate his beautiful emulating life are: 2 brothers, Nathaniel Slaughter (Geraldine) of Port Saint Lucie, FL and Reverend Arthur Slaughter of Vero Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Laretha Higgs of Melbourne, FL and Florine Brown (Edgar) of St. Louis, MO; an adopted niece, Sonja Cameron (Bennie); and a host of other relatives including brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 4pm-7pm at the Wabasso Church of God, and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010, 11:00am at the church with the Reverend Arthur Slaughter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach, FL. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL. Please sign the guest book.
