Herbert Oliver, 72, a resident of Jensen Beach, FL peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Treasure Coast Hospice-Harper House in Stuart, FL.
He was born in Masic Point Andros, Bahamas to the parents of the late George Berry Oliver and Lorinda Smith Oliver.
Herbert was educated in the public schools of the Bahamas and moved to Florida 38 years ago.
He was a member of the Jensen Beach Church of God and was employed in the contruction industry as a mason.
Survivors include: his wife, Lucinda Wiley Oliver of Jensen Beach, FL; a son, Antonio Miller of Nassau, Bahamas; a dughter, Heather Lynette Wiley of Jensen Beach, FL; a sister, Emma Pickstock of Nassau, Bahamas; 5 brothers, Henson Oliver (Edna) of Andros, Bahamas; Clenson Oliver (Penul) of Apopka, FL, Rev. Carl Oliver (Gwendolyn) of Andros, Bahamas, Joseph Oliver (Janet) of Jacksonville, FL and Benjamin Oliver (Eloise) of Andros, Bahamas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 5pm-7pm at the Jensen Beach Church of God in Jensen Beach, FL. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013, 11:00am at the church with the pastor, Bishop Aston D. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Memorial Cemetery in Jensen Beach, FL.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart.
