Mrs. Nathalee Johnson, 80, of Stuart, FL went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2013 at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, FL.
She was born in Blackville, SC to the parents of the late Lemuel and Alwillie Coker. She was educated in the public schools of Barnwell County, SC.
In 1958, she moved from Blackville, SC to Stuart, FL. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart and served faithfully as a member of the Women's Auxiliary. Before retirement she was gainfully employed as a laundress.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson; a daughter, Loretta Green; and a granddaughter, Belinda Pompey.
Remaining to cherish precious memories are: 5 devoted sons, Otis Johnson (Ann) of Debary, FL, Lemuel Johnson and Ivy Lee Johnson of Stuart, FL, Moses Johnson (Brenda) of Wellington, FL and Levi Johnson of Stuart, FL; 5 loving daughters, Mary Waley of Stuart, FL, Betty Phoenix (Jeff) of St. Augustine, FL, Brenda Pompey (Ronald) of Cocoa, FL, Shirley Phoenix (Laverne) of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Jacqueline Paige Johnson of Stuart, FL; son-in-law, Vincent Green of Stuart, FL; and 3 brothers, King Lemuel Coker (Susie) of Chicago, IL, Johnny Coker and Curtis Coker both of Blackville, SC; 28 grandchildren, 26, great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nepohews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 4pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, 11am at Love Temple Church of God by Faith in Stuart. Burial and dove release will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart.
