Theodore Ernest Murphy

U.S. Veteran

Theodore Ernest Murphy, 80 of Jupiter, FL went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2012 in Miami, FL.

He was born in Charleston, South Carolina to the parents of the late Ernestine Beatrice Zimmerman Murphy and the late James Lucius Murphy.

He moved to Harlem, NY with his family at a young age and was educated in the public schools of New York City. He received his Christian education at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Harlem and served as president of the Junior Usher Board.

Theodore served in the United States Army during the Korean War (Tank Division) and received an honorable discharge.

He was employed for many years in the dry cleaning business in New York, Maryland and Florida.

Mr. Murphy moved to Jupiter, FL from Coral Springs, FL four years ago.

He was a member of the Blue Heron Church of God in Riviera Beach, FL where he served as Men's Ministry President and member of the Usher Board.

He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories: a loving wife, Maria Murphy of Jupiter, FL; children, Theodore Lonnie Murphy (Clara), Edward Norman Murphy (Fiance', Theresa) of Central Islip, NY, Theodora Mitchell Evans, Barry Evans, and Troy Evans of Bronx, NY; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a former wife, Isabelle Norma Murphy and a brother, James Murphy.

Service: Visitation will be private. A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012, 11am at the Blue Heron Church of God with the pastor Bishop Darrel Hepburn officiating. Burial will follow at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL (date & time to follow).

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
