Retha Meuse, 91, a long time resident of Stuart, FL went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2012 at Parkway Nursing Home in Stuart, FL.
She was born in Dublin, GA to the parents of the late Joseph Brown and the late Florence Drinks Brown.
During her lifetime she was employed as a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart, FL. where she served as former church secretary and a member of the choir. She was also a member of Club Excelsa and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #176.
Mrs. Meuse was very sociable. She enjoyed gardening and lending a helping hand to her neighbors.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a devoted husband, David Meuse, Sr.; a brother, Willie T. Brown a sister, Marine Moment; and 3 uncles, John Drinks, Frank Drinks and Palmer Drinks
Survivors include: 2 sons, Raymond Meuse (Gilda) of Snellville, GA and David Meuse, Jr. of Poinciana, FL; 2 daughters, Gloria Powell (Rasberry) and Thelma Thompson (Homer) both of Stuart, FL,; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4pm-7pm at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart. A Homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, 11:00am at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart with the pastor Reverend Elker Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart, FL.
