James Robert Anderson

On Sunday, November 11, 2012, James Robert Anderson peacefully made his exit from earth (in Hallandale Beach, FL) to a place of rest prepared just for him by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

"Jimmy", as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was born to the parentage of the late Bishop Jesse H. Anderson Sr. and the late Mother Alberta Porter Anderson in Stuart, FL.

He was educated in the public schools of Martin County, FL. After moving to Broward County, FL he continued his education and became a licensed barber, skilled horticulturist and grounds keeper. He retired from the City of Pembroke Pines, FL.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Annie Bell Anderson, Nora Bell McGahee, and Marie Yvonne Kendell.

Surviving to always cherish fond memories are: a devoted wife, Kay L. Anderson; children, Jimmy Lopez (Tiffany), Kimberly Moore (Stanford), Teresa P. Anderson; grandchildren, Jimmy Lopez, Jr., Christopher Moore, and Brooke Moore; brothers, Jesse H. Anderson, Jr. (Effie Diane), Dr. David Anderson (Dr. Barbara), Charles Anderson (Xenobia), Anthony Anderson, (Delphina), sisters, Daisy Smith, Agnes Duncombe, Margaret Patton (Rev. Alfred), Ruth Stubbs (John), and Joanne Andrews; a loving mother-in-law, Mary G. Washington; in-laws, James Washington, Jackie Mills-Smith (Steve), David Gardner (Sharon), and Jerome Washington; aunt, Mary Thomas; uncle, Richard Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbors and friends, including the family pet rabbit, "Shalimar".

Services: Visitation was held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 6pm-pm at the Hallandale Church of God in Hallandale, FL and will also be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 9:30am-11:00am at the Port Salerno Church of God in Stuart, FL (Cove Rd. Port Salerno). A celebration of life will begin, 11:00am the church with Bishop Howard J. Rolle officiating, Bishop Timothy McGahee, presiding and Bishop Glenford Hutchinson is host pastor. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL.

Professional services are by Thorne's Mortuary (the family funeral home) in Stuart, FL.
