Alice Mackey Dixon

On October 18, 2012 at Shands Health Care in Gainesville, FL, Alice Mackey Dixon crossed over the portals of paradise, as all of heaven rejoiced at her triumphant arrival.

She was born in Jensen Beach, FL to the parents of the late George F. Mackey and the late Emma Dean Mackey. Alice was educated in the public school system of Martin County and graduated from Stuart Training School. She later received an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Before retirement she was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper for the Martin County School District (Murray Middle School).

She was a member of St. Monica's Episcopal Church in Stuart, FL where she served as a trustee/treasurer, choir member, and a member of ECW.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Dixon, Sr. (a licensed funeral director and embalmer) and a brother, Roderick Mackey.

Surviving to mourn her passing, recall precious memories as well as celebrate her Homegoing are: 2 sons, Charles Edwin Dixon, Jr. and his wife, Irene Levette of Fort Pierce, FL and Charles Alexander Spates of Jensen Beach, FL; 2 daughters, Allecia C. Dixon of Fort Pierce, FL and Andrea C. Dixon of Jensen Beach, FL; 7 sisters, Florence M. Parish of Fort Pierce, FL, Inez Brabson and her husband Elmer of Baldwin Hills, CA, Mildred Mackey of Jensen Beach, FL, Loretta M. Pieze of Miami Gardens, FL, Priscilla M. Minnis of Stuart, FL, Thalia M. Hodge of Port St. Lucie, FL and Mary Ann Moore of Miami Gardens, FL; 3 brothers, Franklin Mackey and his wife Mary, Henry Mackey and Daniel Mackey, all of Jensen Beach, FL; 2 adorable grandchildren, Keenan and Lindsey Dixon of Fort Pierce, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 4pm-6pm and a wake service will be held from 6pm-7pm at the Jensen Beach Church of God in Jensen Beach, FL. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012, 10am at St. Monica's Episcopal Church in Stuart.

Her remains will await the resurrection at All Saints's Cemetery in Jensen Beach, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Monica's Episcopal Church, 800 SE Central Avenue, Stuart, FL 34994 or Jensen Beach Church of God, P.O. Box 647, Jensen Beach, FL 34957 in memory of Alice M. Dixon.
